MOPPETS

MOPPETS provides loving care for children newborn through kindergarten.  While mothers attend the MOPS meetings, the children enjoy a program designed to meet their needs. The children are divided into age groups and are involved in planned activities that provide social growth and spiritual enrichment.

As part of the MOPPETS program, your children can interact with each other and express themselves through play, music, crafts and through learning a lesson focusing on biblical principles and values.  The program is for MOPS registered members and reservations are required, as space may be limited.

Please help us provide a wonderful experience for your children by adhering to the following guidelines:

GENERAL

  • Moppets facilities will be open 15 minutes prior to MOPS.
  • A parent should call for the child IMMEDIATELY following the meeting or function.
  • We ask that you only bring children who are registered with our Moppets program.
  • It is suggested that the parent wait outside the baby gate or half-door when dropping off or picking up their child.  This will save confusion at the classroom door.
  • Please do not “look in” on your child. This may cause your child to be unnecessarily upset, as well as cause disruption to the other children.
  • All nursery age children must be signed into their rooms and labeled by their parent or adult guardian. Nursery moms will be given a vibrating pager. If your child needs your attention, you will be paged.
  • Parents are asked to complete a Moppets Registration each year or as information changes. This is to help us understand any need your child has and get to know them better.

CLOTHING

  • Diaper bags, diapers, cups/bottles, extra clothing, and other personal items MUST BE LABELED with the child’s full name.
  • Please include a change of clothing and an empty plastic bag in the diaper bag for wet or soiled clothing.
  • Disposable diapers are preferred in all rooms.
  • Nursery-age children undergoing toilet training should have with them a change of clothing in a labeled bag.
  • Do not allow your child to bring personal toys or other possessions unless it is a “security” item (pacifier, blanket, etc.)

FOOD

  • We ask that you provide a lunch meal for your child attending MOPPETS.
  • Please send nursery-age with a sippy cup/bottle.
  • Please refrain from giving your child gum or candy before coming to class. It can be dangerous, and it is very messy.

MOPPETTS Sick Child Policy

Parents should report any allergies to their child’s teacher verbally, also noting them on the sign-in sheet or board.

Your child will NOT be permitted to stay in the classroom if he/she has any of the following:

  • Fever
  • Cold
  • Cough
  • Green, runny nose
  •  Contagious skin disease
  • Communicable illness

Your child MUST BE fever free (without medication) for 24 hours before coming to MOPPETS.

No medication of any kind will be administered by a caregiver. If your child needs a medication, it must be kept and administered when needed by the mom.

Please keep in mind that bringing your sick child to a MOPS meeting may jeopardize the health of others and put your child at risk of developing additional symptoms. Remember the Golden Rule of "Sick Day Decisions." If another child had the same symptoms, would you be glad to have him/her sitting next to your child?
